Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Charles M. Stallings was born July 22, 1927 in Duluth, Minnesota. He was the son of Meek Stalling (born April 5, 1877 in Starkville, Mississippi, died in 1970) and Annie Belle Gladney (born June 14, 1893 in Topelo, Mississippi, died in 1960). Geraldine Hughes Stalling was born February 25, 1926 in Braxton, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Eddie Hughes (born in Brandon, Mississippi in 1879, died in 1966) and Annie Lee Potter (born in Braxton, Mississippi on September 17, 1903). Both were active in community affairs and the NAACP. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: The Stallings discuss growing up in Duluth and offer a contemporary account of community life there in the 1950s and 1960s.
