SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: General discussion about growing up in the area of Itasca State Park; the Depression; family's early arrival in the Itasca area; Wegmann; holidays in the park; school; resorts north of the park; two sub-cultures; biological station; Frank Pugh and others; animals in the park; development of the park; general reflections. COMMENTS ON INTERVIEW: The first interview is only about 20 minutes. The second interview is more extensive. It was done at his place of business and there was some background noise. |
