Minnesota Women's Press, Inc. Oral History Project: Interview with Margaret Shryer
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Margaret Shryer volunteered to help Minnesota Women's Press Inc. [MWP] during its early days, after her retirement from the educational field. She organized the first anniversary party, and participated in organizing subsequent celebrations. She was responsible for suggesting various promotional events, such as a "read-a-thon" and a newspaper "hawking" event. She brought luncheon to the staff of MWP on a regular basis. Margaret was also a shareholder of MWP. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Description of first anniversary and other celebrations and events; purchase of stock; her interviews and discussions with women's presses in other cities; MWP and feminism; the current state of feminism and MWP continuing role in promoting it; description of events and celebrations; MWP reputation; the cultural environment of MWP; values and impact of MWP.
