Hattie H. McGahn 1880-1924
In later years, McGahn Importing was located at 11th and Nicollet. On at least two occasions, the McGahns' business was burglarized, with reports of "gowns imported from Paris and London" stolen off the racks and "yards of Cluny and real Irish lace, hand painted silk scarves, dainty silk lingerie in all $7,000 worth of costly women's apparel stolen." In 1901, the Minneapolis Souvenir reported that the firm employed "seventy-five girls and a corps of expert tailors. The McGahn garments are to be found not only in the Twin Cities, but among the elite all over the country; their patronage in the West being particularly large."
