Propaganda
A common tactic used by all sides during WWII was to use propaganda to influence the hearts and minds of the public. By appealing to their citizens' emotions, governments hoped to keep up public support for their war efforts. Think about the following as you look at the posters on this page:
- What types of emotions do the posters appeal to?
- What sort of things did the U.S. government want its citizens to do?
- What audiences were these posters aimed at? Do they differ from poster to poster?
