Commemorative silver spoon (A) in case (B)

Silver teaspoon (A) manufactured to mark the 1862 "38 Dakota Hangings" at Mankato, Minn. Bowl features an engraved scene of the hanging taken from the commonly used image for other commemorative products of this event. The engraving(?) is entitled: Execution of the Thirty-eight Sioux Indians At Mankato, Minnesota, December 26, 1862 and was published in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, January 24, 1863, page 285. Artist: W. H. Childs. Rounded oblong black leather case (B) with sculpted blue silk velvet is marked "HART BROS. /241 FULTON ST. / BROOKLYN" on lid interior & has a pair of yellow metal hook and eye closures on lip. The spoon was given by Mrs. Julia Longini of Minneapolis-formerly of Mankato.
