US Army knapsack

A U. S. Army regulation knapsack made of black rubberized canvas. It consists of two bags, one of envelope form, the other formed by four triangular flaps that buckle together for closure. The bags are joined at their tops by a strip to which are attached four leather loops for blanket straps. The knapsack appears to have its full complement of straps and hardware (brass hooks and iron buckles).

ID Number: 66.72

Soldiers stored personal belongings in their knapsacks, which were worn on their backs.
