Letter from the General Secretary of the Sanitary Commission to Governor Ramsey. "Sanitary Commission, Washington, D.C., Treasury Building, Sep. 20th, 1861. To His Excellency, Alexander Ramsey, Governor of Minnesota, Sir, At a session of the Sanitary Commission, held on Thursday, Sept. 12th, 1861, it was Resolved: "That the Sanitary Commission urge the adoption, on the part of several Legislatures, of a Uniform System of Medical Examination for Military Service." "And that a Copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the Governors of the several Loyal States". I have the honor to be, Sir, Your Excellency's Obedient Servant [...] Gen'l Sec'y."
