US Army brigadier general's epaulettes

United States Army officer's epaulettes worn by Brigadier General Henry H. Sibley during the Civil War and U.S.-Dakota War. Each consists of a bullion covered board strap with a brass General Staff button on the end. On the opposite end, within a brass crescent, is a silver bullion six-pointed star. A row of spiral gold bullion fringe hangs from the crescent. The epaulettes were made by Horstmann and Company in New York.
