Woman's satin two-piece ball gown

Worn by Mrs. John Lind, Minn. Gov.'s wife. Pale yellow satin ball gown; wst. 22". 2 pc. Boned bodice is sleeveless and low cut with narrow shoulder straps covered by thin band of ruffled silk chiffon. This trim also bands arm holes, neckline and bodice front. An inset yoke on bodice front is of same chiffon, ruffled tucking and hooks at bodice front. Appliquéd flowers stitched with gold metallic embroidery trim front and back. Full satin skirt with train has inset panel of delicate tucked and ruffled chiffon. Skirt hem is also trimmed with this chiffon ruffling. Floral appliqué in gold thread also trims skirt bottom. c. 1899
