Voices From The Past Oral History Project

DATE: 1997-2000

This collection of transcripts and summaries in four volumes was the result of a seventh-grade history class activity at Valley View Middle School, Edina, Minnesota. The students interviewed people older than themselves and then produced transcripts or summaries of the interviews. The project encouraged students to take active roles in gathering, analyzing and transmitting accounts of the past. Cathryn C. Weller was the teacher of the class. Each volume is organized in chronological order, based on the dates of events discussed in the 406 interviews, and contains a table of contents, including names of the student interviewers.
