Description BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Steve Moore provides support and outreach to HIV-infected women sentenced to the Minnesota State Women's Correctional Facility in Shakopee. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: He discusses the lives of women in prison and the difficulty of creating trusting relationships with his clients. An African American man, Moore seeks to be a role model within his community and questions the lack of attention initially paid to AIDS in communities of color. He expresses his fear that recent changes in government will reverse gains that people of color have made since the civil rights movement.
