These are just a few of the topics that were considered “unmentionable” in mainstream Victorian society. However, while these subjects may have been kept out of “polite” conversation and public discourse, they were nonetheless part of people’s lived experience. 

Join us for this special tour, where we’ll uncover often hidden aspects of Victorian life. You will hear excerpts from private letters and journals which provide a glimpse into the private lives of the Ramsey family and their contemporaries, revealing what was really discussed behind closed doors.
