Survey Data Collector

Help improve the visitor experience at MNHS sites! Volunteers are needed to conduct a survey of visitors at the Forest History Center. The survey will evaluate the visitor experience, who is visiting, and what motivated them to visit. This information will help us identify areas for improvement and help us create more powerful engagement with history for our visitors. 

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct visitor intercept surveys
  • Follow data collection protocols, as instructed during training
  • Interact with MNHS visitors
  • Accurately record visitors’ survey responses
  • Set up and tear down survey station
  • Dress: business casual attire with MNHS Volunteer shirt and nametag (shirt and nametag are provided). Comfortable shoes are recommended. 

We are looking for volunteers who:

  • are friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented.
  • are interest in talking to people of all ages and backgrounds about a wide range of topics.
  • can put people at ease and maintain clear and positive communication in sometimes chaotic surroundings.
  • have great attention to detail and the ability to follow data collection protocols systematically, without deviation.

Time Commitment

One or two weekly shifts
11:00am-3:00pm
Wednesday through Saturday
June through August
Possiblity to continue through September on Fridays / Saturdays only
